We are seeking a consultant with enthusiasm, commitment, and drive to work closely with colleagues throughout the organisation and within the community to help lead the organisation.

Main duties of the job

 

  • Maintenance of high quality patient centred care
  • Shared responsibility for the day to day management of the service and participation in strategic planning
  • Teaching and training within the multidisciplinary service
  • Active involvement in multidisciplinary team meetings and directorate clinical governance activity
  • Active participation in continuing medical education

 

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The Consultant will work alongside the current consultant team of 11 in Diabetes and Endocrinology and provide diabetes and endocrine services at Lister Hospital. In addition, the post-holder will participate in the acute medical emergency rotas, which will operate on a 1:12-14 basis for weekends and approximately 1:25 weekdays though this is currently under review.

The Trust has a comprehensive programme of leadership mentoring available for newly qualified Consultants. Opportunities are also available to other Consultant appointees to play an active part in the programme.
